Day 1: Arrival-Nairobi

Arrive at the Jomo Kenyatta international airport in Nairobi, transfer to Intercontinental hotel remainder of the day at your leisure.

Day 2: Nairobi-Mount Kenya

After breakfast transfer to Serena Mountain Lodge Located on the slopes of Mount Kenya, the lodge is surrounded by a dense rain forest that comes alive at dusk with a myriad of sounds that makes the African bush so special. Considered the most spectacular forest water hole in the Aberdares, the lodge’s waterhole presents a constant ballet of wildlife. The lodge verandah overlooks the waterhole where there is never a dull moment. Enjoy an afternoon nature walk and in the evening relax and enjoy a night game viewing from your lodge deck.

Day 3: Mount Kenya-Samburu After breakfast drive across the northern most foothills of Mount Kenya, eventually heading north to a dusty outpost known as Isiolo. Arriving at  Samburu Serena Lodge situated on the banks of Uaso Nyiro River with its crocodiles and leopards Nestled in the trees in the heart of Samburu National Reserve, this man made oasis features a spacious swimming pool and game viewing terrace and makes a perfect base for exploring this unique Reserve.
Lunch at the Lodge Early afternoon visit a Samburu Manyatta (village) to get an insight into their fascinating culture and way of life there after zebra_bproceed for evening game viewing drive in the reserve. A wide variety of animals and bird life are seen at Samburu National Reserve. Animals commonly seen are grevy’s, Zebras, lion,  elephants, cheetahs, giraffes, gerenuks, buffalos, Oryx, grants gazelles, dikdiks and waterbucks. There are over 350 varieties of birds. These include the famous Somali Ostriches, kingfishers, humming birds, eagles, guinea fowls and vultures.

Day 4: Samburu-Lake Nakuru

After breakfast, drive to Lake Nakuru National park with a stopover at the Nyahururu Falls. Proceed to L. Nakuru arriving for Lunch at the lodge, Afternoon game viewing drive in the park. The Park surrounds Lake Nakuru, a shallow alkaline lake coloured by a shimmering pink flamingo who flock here year round. Besides the rich and varied bird life this is the home of the Rothschild’s giraffe. Monkeys, impala, buffalo, warthog, Reedbuck and eland. However, the main attractions are the Baboon cliff and Rhino sanctuary. Best places in Kenya to observe them. Both black and white Rhinos thrive here.

Day 5: Lake Nakuru-Masai Mara Breakfast at the lodge Depart and proceed via Mau Narok and down the escarpment Narok town. Continue to Masai Mara National Reserve for lunch at Mara Sarova Camp.  Afternoon game drive. Masai Mara is a magnificent landscape of open plains bisected by the Mara River and its tributaries, and punctuated by marshes and forests. This 650 sq kilometer reserve supports the highest density of game to be seen anywhere. During the seasonal migrations, Masai Mara is home to up to a million wildebeest and an equally impressive number of zebras that move into the area from neighboring Serengeti National Park, in Tanzania. The reserve is home to all the “big five” and it is also possible to observe; baboon, eland, ostrich, bat-eared fox, jackal and cheetah. The rivers abound with hippos and crocodiles.

elephntDay: 6/7 Masai Mara Game Reserve

Enjoy the entire day in the Masai Mara with early morning game drive, guided and afternoon game drive. All meals in the lodge. The Mara is also noted for its abundance of lions - particularly the superb black manned males. You'll see lots of elephants here often in large herds, as well as - if you're lucky - leopard, cheetah and rhino.
All of the Big Five are residents. You're sure to see the African buffalo. Get the cameras ready, stock up on film and enjoy yourselves!

Day 8: Masai Mara-Nairobi

Early morning game drive .Breakfast and then depart for Nairobi lunch enroute. Visit the former home of Karen Blixen – author of “Out of Africa”. Now a Museum, get to explore the beautiful house and grounds at leisure before proceeding to the Giraffe Centre where the rare Rothschild giraffes are being rehabilitated before being returned to the wild. You will be able to see them at close range, even feeding them. Dinner at the famous carnivore restaurant Transfer to the airport for Departure
